The project “Boxing for Change (B4C) – With boxing you learn” is a 24 months transnational cooperation initiative financed by Erasmus + Programme – Cooperation Partnership.  With the aim of developing and implementing innovative educational methods that enhance boxing, the “noble art”, as a tool to promote social inclusion and prevent violence. The project has a European dimension and value and pays particular attention to the Mediterranean Region, involving partners and beneficiaries from Italy, Spain and Romania. One of the main aspects that the project underlines within the priority “protect integrity” is the link between sport and education where the sport (boxing) is a framework for developing personal, social, and learning skills and for promoting tolerance, solidarity, inclusiveness as well as other values.

Specific objectives

  • to point out the problems of violence, intolerance and/or social exclusion among teens
  • to propose a concrete contribution/solution, designed in cooperation with Boxing Federations, an international NGO, Sport Associations and external expert from three different countries of Europe, each of them giving an essential support to the theoretical plan of the project
  • to create a new methodology for promoting inclusion and preventing violence through boxing: the message is decoded by a practical and thoric format as new vehicle of sport value awareness-raising among teens; schoolteachers and boxing technicians are trained on the methodology
  • to tests the conceived model in the 3 involved countries on a sample group of at least 2000 teens students and more of 120 educators and aspires to its implementation in other EU countries as follow-up
  • to promote the inclusion of the beneficiary teens in grassroots sport as school of life through a new qualified method and experience
